CA CCW (New or Renewal – 8 to 16 hrs) – Los Angeles, Ventura, LAPD, San Diego, Kern approved
This course is designed for those who have have been approved or wish to get a jumpstart on thier CA CCW training requirements and defensive handgun skills.
UT, AZ, & FL (if purchased) CCW training requirements are completed in class and permits are issued 30-60 days after class. No experience is required. This event is provided by our Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors and is not your typical local offering. Range day is the a duplicate of the day 1 for Law Enforcement, Military, and Govenment on the range, laying the foundation of operating a handgun from a holster
Our instructors travel across the West Coast on selected weekends teaching real world, Law Enforcement, Military, and Civilian proven concepts. You will learn fundamental and comprehensive concepts taught to our Law Enforcement personnel that will teach you the fundamentals of Defensive Handgun, including Defensive Accuracy, and the importance of being able to stop threat(s) in under 2 seconds.
Included are state requirements for California’s concealed carry application. Drawing from a holster is an integral part of this course, so if you have not had this type of training, please select the 16 hour course in the calendar.
Ammunition is availalbe for purchase.
Upon completion, you will have the skills necessary for personal defense inside and outside the home and start your states concealed carry application . Defensive Handgun 2 is available following this course. More info here.

Full payment is required to reserve a spot. Please email us at info@308tac.com if you have any questions. Class Cancellations require a 72 hr advance notice for refund. No refunds allowed less than 72 hours advance notice prior to start of first day of class, but you may take the same class at any location we offer at any time at no additional cost. Please understand we have a significant cost that is variable by total attendance (ie. range rental, class rental, equipment purchases, etc) and we cannot change our costs without 72 hrs advance notice.

- This course is PRIVATE and limited to 12 persons.

- No Criminal Record / Mental Illness
- Previous Firearm Holster Training
CCW STEPS
- Local Law Enforcement CCW Permit Application submit (we do in class if needed)
- Phone or In-person Interview (we will discuss in class)
- Authorized County Instructor Training (min. 8 hrs) (we do that in classroom and range)
- CCW Permit Approval (we will discuss in class)
- Shooting Qualification (we do at range. If your county requires more recent training due to county requirements, then a revisit at range for shooting and class will be necessary. There is no charge for this revisit. We’ll discuss this in class). We believe training, education, and safety outweigh the plastic card priority. Further, if you are not approved for some reason, we will refund your course fee. All qualifications must be done with registered owner handgun(s).
