Teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. This is not your standard Colorado “4 hr sit in a class and get my permit” course. It includes all the classroom instruction necessary to apply for a Colorado Concealed Handgun permit, classroom instruction necessary to understand the fundamentals of Concealed Carry, and range instruction necessary to learn the concealed fundamentals of personal defense using a handgun. The NRA CCW Course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This instructor-led only course gives you direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end and is conducted in a classroom and on a shooting range with an Instructor. NRA CCW takes place in a traditional classroom (5 hrs) and range (7 hrs) environment. Course topics include: Firearm / Home Safety, Pistol Nomenclature and Selecting a Pistol for Self-Defense, Colorado gun & concealed laws, Basic Defensive Pistol Skills, Drawing from Holster & Concealment, Loading and Stoppage Remediation, Movement, Shooting Fundamentals, Mindset, Carry Modes, Pistol Concealment, Firearm Cleaning, and Sport Shooting and Training Activities.
